It is with great excitement that we are announcing the release of Max 9.0.0! This is the first major release since Max 8 in 2018, and we are all incredibly excited to share it with you.

Max 9 includes exciting new features and meaningful improvements. Featuring a new library of ABL audio tools co-developed with Ableton, the biggest Jitter update in years, major improvements to code integration and lots more, Max 9 offers something special for every Max user.

Mac users, please note that both Max 8 and Max 9 are installed as “Max” in your Applications folder. This means if you have Max 8 installed and you install Max 9, you will be asked if you want to write over the previous version. If you want both installed, change the name of Max 8 application from “Max” to “Max 8” and then install Max 9.

This is not an issue for Windows users, where the app will install in a separate folder.
