I have an issue when using node.codebox and requiring a module: the search path is not (as expected) the storage location of the maxpatch, but a temp dir of Max. I can see why this makes sense for technical reasons, but it's not useful when working with npm. 

Is there a way to change the default search path for a node.codebox? It would be of little use to me to have module path logic in the code itself.

But Max (9.0.5 on Mac M1) writes it to this location:

So far I remember Max used to write to the directory of the patcher.

Hi - I have an installation that's been running for years and has a fixed configuration of multichannel output.  For a variety of reasons, some new content is quieter than we'd like, and we find that if we push the "Audio meter / gain" slider (that's what shows in the tooltip when we roll over it) -- the one in the bottom right of the UI frame -- we can raise it a tiny bit past the default 'top' position and this new content sounds good.

Is there a way to programatically set this slider?   The installation runs autonomously, and I'd like to send a command to set this slider (we do everything via OSC commands, so that's not an issue)... but is there a max object that controls this final overall output?

I'm quite new to this software and fell in love with it at first launch,  and now I intend to create something more interactive for a project next year. 

I play the piano and mostly performing classical music. I visualize this project where I'm playing a piece and/or several pieces and during the time I play the audience have the opportunity to record or trigger a recording of already prepared mics on the piano. The types of samples I would be looking for would be limited to a certain size/length because of the area of use I'm looking to utilize the samples for. This arrangement would need some kind of Bluetooth or wireless connection to max/msp for triggering a record. And it would also need to be sustainable for up to 50 people recording samples.

So my first question; is this possible with Max 9? Are there any plugins and object where you can interact with a patch from your phone through eg. a website?

I would then use the samples in a sort of granular synth by using the sounds from the already played piece (maybe from prerecording of the next piece) and then creating a sort of atmosphere which goes into the next piece where this procedure would be repeated.

I'm glad for any answers in helping me with this as a relatively new and green user for this software. Any sort of collaborations are deeply welcome!

 command extensively since I first discovered it, and I'm really happy to see the improved 

 command, which makes passing args/attributes to stereotyped objects way easier!

Although... is there a chance that we'll get a proper way to use this in combination with bpatchers in the future? At the moment, it's (afaik) only possible to pass arguments, not attributes, to a bpatcher upon creation due to how 

 is parsed by the bpatcher. The only way to pass attributes to the contained object is by editing the 

max define mybp bpatcher @name somebpatcherobject @args 123 456

but the only way for a user to override the default arguments (123 and 456) here is to override the 

 attribute in its entirety (e.g. if you want to override the first argument:

), and there's no way to pass attributes to the contained abstraction (

It would be pretty nifty if we could use
