[sharing] Dolly zoom / Vertigo effect with jit.gl.camera

tmhglnd's icon

Hey all!

I would like to share this dolly zoom effect (moving the camera away from an object while zooming in at the same time, or moving the camera towards an object while widening the field of view).

The dolly zoom is commonly used by filmmakers to represent the sensation of vertigo, a "falling-away-from-oneself feeling" or a feeling of unreality. (source: wikipedia)

Hope you like it and find it useful!

no free download. :-(

You should correct this. It's ok to ask money for your things but it's not ok to market it as "free" if it's not.

It's an old post. I'm pretty sure it was initially free

This post should be deleted forever.

It's nit only old...it's antique and the original attitude of sharing something "free" seems to be dead as well.

Hi, thanks for catching this. I've removed "free" from the original post. It was free in 2018, on the gumroad page it does say I shared the first 50 for free and after that it would cost a little. For the rest the patch still works fine (just tested it), so I don't agree with the "old/antique" statement and don't see any reason why the post should be deleted.

Timo has been a very generous contributor to the Max community over the years. The vast majority of the 43 items he has available on Gumroad are free - you are asked to pay a small amount for 7 of them. He continues to provide plenty of his work for free on GitHub as well as the av-toolkit in the package manager. I hardly think 'the attitude of sharing something for free is dead' is applicable.
