We are not AI
Hi.
I have been using Ableton Live since 2008. Not full time, but as a Slow Learner like Pynchon. Until recently I started with Max, besides only using M4L devices before. I've been diving a lot since last December, lots of info with tutotials, clicking the software, and I am happy to be here and also with a little regret that I took so long (life goes in several ways). Anyway, last week I tried to release a song but the distributor I have since 2020 denied my track, claiming it was AI-generated. After the natural WTF, I've been thinking about where does music stands, but I don't want to have the editorial-like pseudophilosophical conversation about the esence of music, technology, etc. Let's stick to the solutions: have this ever happened to you? What can be done?
I am really not interested in the follow up with the distributor (they required a screenshot recording, bla bla bla). I am worried about the possibilities of sharing music and not being taken for a robot. Needless to say I'm still in shock by the offensive way the distributor judged my song (I do improvisations, instrumental-experimental, not pre fabricated pop. I can't imagine anyone trying to generate this kind of music with AI).
