Hello! I am trying to do a video patch that takes 1920 1080 video and does some z-displacements using jit.gl.mesh. However, at the output I always get a video that has been resized and that does not conform to 1920 1080.

Using @transform_reset 2 on jit.gl.mesh would do the work, but then I lose all the 3D views and displacements. 

The patch just fiddles randomly between frames (30 fps). First load a video, turn world on and open the gate.

I got an issue when capturing UHD video via a Blackmagic PCIe card using the device

The captured image is fine when using @output_texture 0 but it is half the width with artifacts when using @output_texture 1. See the screenshot attached.

Is there a solution to get the full width resolution for @output_texture 1 ?

I would like to scan a picture like those radar scope with a bar turning around the center of the screen and reading each batch of pixels as turning around . I just foresee it for B&W pictures, no need of colors. It would be a king of stepper but turning around instead of sliding from LH to RH .

any idea to how begin prototyping this in Jitter ?

thank you for this inspirational upgrade.

I was very much looking forward to the announced upgrade to jit.gl.pbr's parralax-mode as mentioned two years ago in this video here (Matteo Marsen, 12:30 ff): 

which would enable us to displace geometry as is possible with jit.gl.material using heightmap-textures. 

Perhaps I am not clever enough to find the correct method on how to use textures to displace geometry using jit.gl.pbr, however, the helppatch for jit.gl.pbr still states that only matrices are supported while textures are in fact supported and the parallax-mode can only be flagged without further options — hence the displacement does not take place. Is there something I am overlooking? Or will it be part of a future upgrade/update?

If I where super experienced in shader coding, perhaps I could implement heightmap displacement myself, but since it (apparently) didn't make it into this upgrade of Max, it is likely to be a bit more challenging than an afternoon's coffee-session ^^

My request is simple: I want to be able to set custom blend modes to an arbitrary number of jit.gl.videoplanes with possibly changing rendering order.

The built-in blend modes (add/multiply/screen/exclusion/colorblend/alphablend/coloradd/alphaadd) are fine, but I would like to use my own formulae, like the ones available in co.***.jxs slabs, or others.

I use videoplanes mainly for their ability to be rotated, scaled, positioned, and changing their rendering order on-the-fly with @layer.

I know I could just use textures instead of videoplanes, pass them through a [jit.gl.slab @file td.rota.jxs] for the rotation/scale/position, but then comes the rendering order with an arbitrary number of textures. Say I have N textures. I would need to create N-1 [jit.gl.slab @inputs 2] in cascade, route each texture to a given slab depending on the desired rendering order, and load in each slab the desired custom blend mode for a given texture. But this become quickly becomes a scripting headache when we want to remove/add textures and change their rendering order.

Another interesting approach is the one described in 

, which basically implements the custom blending in a jit.gl.shader applied on any object we want to apply our custom blending on. Then we make use of a [jit.gl.node @capture 1] to capture the scene and feed the blending shader with what's already been rendered, and we use the 

 message out of the node to trigger the rendering in the desired order. The caveat is that instead of relying on the @layer attribute for the rendering order, we need to change the order in which bangs are sent, which seems more manageable than a cascade of slabs.

The problem with this last method is that I just cannot make it work. I made my custom shader starting from the jit.gl.videoplane default shader, adding to it a secondary texture input and implementing a very simple blending for the sake of the example. As you can see in the screenshot below, I get weird square glitches as soon as a videoplane isn't at position 0 0 0, and each videoplane seem "doubled" on the other one as if it was ignoring position.

Am I overthinking it, or is it just utterly tricky to achieve what I want?

I am running a patch that hosts 60 jit.phys.bodies with the following initial attributes:

jit.phys.body @mass 0 @force 0 0 0 @restitution 0 @scale 0.02 @filterclass other @filters other @collisions 1

anyhow, the jit.phys.body outputs the collisions-dictionary, though for some reason 

… when obvious collisions occur, these are sometimes not reported.

Does this happen inbetween frames and is thus ignored? Any help would be fantastic.

That being said, I have decided against jit.phys.multiple for several reasons, mainly because I can handle bodies and their collisions individually without parsing the entire collisions-dictionary and the 

 method does not work as expected, or at least I am unable to understand the exact message body required… I have left Rob Ramirez without a reply in the 

 so far because I even have difficulties setting up a patch that highlights the problem comprehensively.

It will be difficult also to share a patch here since it involves poly~ and numerous other stuff which could cause the problem. Would just like to know if anyone has a fraction of an answer to this.
