Hi, I'm a beginner in MaxMSP, I have to make an audio project for school, and the audio decided to randomly stop working today. I was working this morning and it was fine (I'm playing some audio with playlist, the live.gain thing and ezdac), but when I retried later today suddenly I couldn't hear anything. I can see it's working because the audio is playing in the bottom right corner, I checked the audio outputs and drivers, I did random stuff I read online with the signal vector size, I kinda clicked on whatever I could but nothing works. I got the latest version of Max installed. I restarted my computer but still nothing. What's weird is that I have built a midi keyboard and I can hear the sound from that, but just not from the playlist objects. I can't see what's not working with them though since they're so simple and they worked fine a few hours ago. I also switched my own sounds for the ones Max already has but I can't get any sound either.

I'm trying to make a Max4Live patch in Ableton's patcher. The issue is that sending a 1 to the groove~ object causes the audio to playback at a rate slightly over 1. I made sure the sample rates are the same from Ableton to Max. When I use play~ and send it a message of "0,$1 $1" with $1=endpoint in ms, it also plays back slightly faster than the recorded loop.

Hello, i am a newbie in max, but have some programming background and understanding of computational geometry, but found myself struggling to understand the process of creation of custom shaders for jit GPU objects. Hello, don't be mad at me if i what i am looking for is stupid or pointless, i am new to this and not quite familiar with max terminology. So, i am looking for a way to use line object to perform linear crossfade between x y z float coordinates, packed in some kind of multichannel signal, to express the transition delta from one point placed in 3d space to another point placed in 3d space. I just want to make it flexible enough to not to process each coordinate separately. I want to have a dynamically changing list of three coordinates in output. In other words, i am looking for a decent way to perform any operations with each member from a list as if i were using map() function in programming

I was very excited that the new max 9 release made the native input work for my ultrastudio 4k mini.  However I've been having trouble for a while, with both native and non-native inputs (the non-native has disappeared with my upgrade to sequoia).  If I leave my patch, or even the jit.grab Blackmagic help file open for a bit it disconnects and I have to reopen the device.  This is very disruptive to my microscopy workshops (running a sony rx0 II w/4k hdmi output for live video from my microscope).  I was wondering if anyone with this device had found a workaround.  Or, worse case scenario maybe someone could recommend another device to digitize video that is more max friendly?  I do need an output for raw video to an external screen on it.  I tried an Elgato 4k device but it drops frames here and there and this is very disruptive to my application- being the trails of microscopic critters, it make little gaps in the trails.  So far the 4k ultrastudio is the only device that does not drop frames, but it has this issue of disconnecting randomly, nothing in the max console about it.  It seems to happen more when I don't click anything in my patch and just go outside to vape etc, it takes anywhere from 3-20 min and it will always disconnect.

I just installed Max 9. I copied all settings from Max 8.

In Max 9 bpatchers cannot be loaded. I presume Max can't find them on my drive.

Any idea what I need to change to resolve this? How can I add my search paths from Max 8?

Edit: Copying my search path file from Max 8 to Max 9 resolved the issue.
